On June, 22nd 2011, Motocross Start "the World and Memory"
On June, 22nd, 2011 in St.-Petersburg and Leningrad region with support of Committee on external relations of St.-Petersburg started motocross «the World and memory», devoted to the 70 anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.
It is the international Christian action of a remembrance of defenders of Fatherland and victims of war. As its initiators clerics of the St.-Petersburg diocese of Russian Orthodox Church and Evangelichesko-Lutheran Church with the assistance of several motor clubs from Germany and Russia have acted.
Motocross will begin with putting on of colors on the Piskarevsky memorial cemetery and on a memorial «the Broken off ring» Vsevolozhsk area of Leningrad region, and then will pass on territory of Germany with visiting of places of intensive operations and burial places of the Soviet soldiers in territory of Germany and fulfillment of a church and public remembrance of the fallen.
The action has the peace-making and educational purposes: to draw attention of the public to history lessons, to remind of inadmissibility of war, to establish cooperation between German and Russian motor clubs. It urged to become a part of the program of development побратимских communications of St.-Petersburg and Hamburg.

15.00 – arrival of participants of motocross to the Piskarevsky memorial cemetery 15.30 – visiting of the Piskarevsky cemetery. A remembrance of victims of blockade, putting on of colors and wreaths to tombs of townsmen 16.00 – the beginning of motocross from the Piskarevsky cemetery (avenue Unsubdued, Piskarevsky avenue, avenue of Marshal Blucher, avenue Energetikov, Porohovsky street, Irinovsky avenue, Rjabovsky highway) 17.00 – monument visiting «the Broken off ring» and the Museum of Road of Life of Vsevolozhsk area of Leningrad region, a remembrance fallen, putting on of colors 18.00 – departure of participants
